Marist's Hart Representing Virgin Islands in Basketball Tourney

 Marist guard Khallid Hart is playing for the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Centrobasket tournament in Nayarit, Mexico.


The Virgin Islands dropped its opener to Mexico, 74-64, on Friday night. Hart played 18 1/2 minutes off the bench, scoring 11 points, grabbing two boards and posting a steal and turnover.

Hart was the Metro Atlantic rookie of the year, averaging 15 points, three rebounds and three assists for Marist.

The Virgin Islands played Puerto Rico late Saturday night. The Islanders play the Bahamas at 5 p.m. Monday and El Salvador at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The semifinals are Wednesday and the finals on Thursday.
