This afternoon they will leave from different parts of the city to meet at the Malecon in Vallarta.

Women will march today, Tuesday March 8th in commemoration of International Women's Day, they will leave from different places such as Puerto Magico, at 7 pm, others will leave at 5:30 pm from the corner of Libramiento Luis Donaldo Colosio and Francisco Medina Ascencio, towards Los Arcos del Malecon in the center of the city, for different interests such as the fight for gender equity, equality in society, and justice in cases of femicides, disappearances and assaults against women in different areas. At the end of the march, at Los Arcos del Malecón, there will be an artistic event including dance, singing, music, poetry, theater and other artistic performances. A complementary activity will take place on Saturday, March 12, when the Sorora Fair will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Los Mangos library, where there will be a stand of local entrepreneurs, workshops, talks and artistic presentations. Herova del Carmen Olmos, member of the Vallarta Fem collective, commented that these activities are free of charge and all women are invited to participate in order to commemorate this important international date in the vindication of women's rights on an international level.

The also president of the students of the Law School, extended the invitation to artist collectives to participate in the event to be held at the end of the march, as well as in the meeting that will take place on Saturday at the Los Mangos library, in order to find new spaces of participation for all entrepreneurs and women of the port and the region. This is a day to fight for equality, participation and empowerment of women in all areas of society. The strength that a worldwide women's movement achieves transcends borders, cultural, economic, ideological and any other kind of differences. Women united have the power to change the world and achieve equality in all areas of society. If there is any group that knows how to fight, it is women. We only have to look back to see what women have achieved in just 100 years, what progress has been made. But there is still a long way to go. The 8M movement grows stronger and more powerful every year, like each of the women who make it up. Groups, associations, foundations, NGOs and women in general continue to fight every year to end harassment, murders, gender violence, wage gap and inequalities in all its forms. International Women's Day was promulgated by the United Nations (UN) in 1975, but it has been celebrated since long before that date.
