Celebrating the Tenth Anniversary.

Bodybuilding in Mexico has its roots in the 1940s, when figures like Vicente Sámano and Manuel Torres began to popularize this sport in the country. However, it was in the 1960s when Mexican bodybuilding began to gain real momentum, thanks to the emergence of athletes like Sergio Oliva and Arnold Kauffman, who put Mexico on the international map of this sport. The concept of bodybuilding in Mexico has evolved over the years, transitioning from simply being a physical exercise to becoming a lifestyle for many. It has integrated into Mexican culture as a form of artistic expression of the body, focusing not only on muscle development but also on symmetry, definition, and aesthetics.

Bodybuilding in Mexico has experienced steady growth over the decades, with the establishment of national federations and the hosting of competitions at local, national, and international levels. Additionally, it has spawned a related industry, including specialized gyms, nutritional supplement brands, and sports events. The concept of bodybuilding in Mexico has also been shaped by iconic figures in the sport, such as the famous wrestler El Santo, who was recognized not only for his skill in the ring but also for his impressive physique. His image influenced later generations of Mexicans who sought to follow in his footsteps in the world of bodybuilding.

On Saturday, May 25th, at Teatro Vallarta, at 12 pm, an event will be held to celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of MR. & Miss Puerto Vallarta 2024, which will be a family-focused sports event for bodybuilding athletes from the municipality of Puerto Vallarta and nationwide, starting in 2015.

Nowadays, bodybuilding in Mexico continues to be a popular activity, with a wide base of followers across the country. Social media and mass media have contributed to its dissemination, allowing more people to become interested and participate in this sport.

The concept of bodybuilding in Mexico has also evolved to include different categories and styles, adapting to the preferences and needs of athletes and enthusiasts. From classic bodybuilding to fitness and modern bodybuilding, there are options for all tastes and goals.
