Adult Poetry Contest for Children.
In an interview with Jorge Batis Orozco, a member of the Los Mangos Library Council, he shared information about a poetry contest for children scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd at 11 am. The purpose of this event is to launch the initiative to create "The Dwarf Poets Club," which will be a workshop inviting children to come and listen to poetry, learn how to write it, and cultivate an interest in poetry.
For the Adult Poetry Contest for Children, we extended an open invitation, allowing participants to submit one to five poems. The judging panel consists of Edmundo Andrade and Paco Quesada, two distinguished poets from the region. The deadline for submitting contest poems was on September 15th at 8:00 pm, and today we will have the list of the 10 finalists, which will be announced on Saturday at 11:00 am during the award ceremony, where the top three winners will also be revealed. Jorge Batis, who is also a writer, provided this information.
The entire community is invited to participate, and naturally, participants will receive a participation diploma and recognition for their involvement in this contest.
Furthermore, the Los Mangos Library offers a creative writing and literature workshop. It promotes and teaches individuals to delve into the fascinating world of writing, creation, and exploration of various literary genres. Activities are organized to learn how to write poetry, short stories, essays, and all literary subgenres. Additionally, participants receive an introduction to the history of world literature. This workshop takes place every Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Los Mangos Library. It is open to the public, welcoming people with or without prior experience, and those who have never ventured into the captivating realm of literature.
