Celebrating 34 years of existence.

Basketball has been shaped by the presence of great stars throughout its history, whose legacy transcends the courts and becomes an integral part of the cultural and social fabric of numerous countries. Figures like Michael Jordan, considered by many as the greatest player of all time, not only dominated the game with their exceptional talent but also elevated the popularity and global reach of basketball, turning it into a worldwide phenomenon. The impact of figures like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in the 1980s goes beyond their technical skills; their rivalry ignited fans' passion and catapulted the NBA to new levels of viewership and recognition. Likewise, players like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have continued this legacy, not only raising the standard of the game but also inspiring a new generation of players worldwide, demonstrating that basketball is a universal language that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers.

The Puerto Vallarta International Sports Classic 2024 tournament will begin on May 2nd and end on May 5th, with the participation of 4450 people from around the world. Puerto Vallarta will host the thirty-fourth edition of the International Sports Classic; a must-see event for basketball fans since 1990. The Puerto Vallarta International Sports Classic 2024 is a friendly tournament that will bring together over three thousand basketball players and former players from the United States and Canada in a series of exciting sports encounters held at the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Complex, better known as "the Stadium".

The Puerto Vallarta International Sports Classic 2024 also features a variety of sports disciplines, such as softball, tennis, soccer, a 5K recreational race, aerobics, a ProBeach volleyball tournament, and a frisbee exhibition. The competitions are open to athletes and sportspeople from Mexico, the United States, Canada, Central and South America who wish to participate individually or in teams. The Puerto Vallarta International Sports Classic was founded in 1990 by former Olympic basketball player Howard Kelsey, immediately becoming a major sports festival based in Puerto Vallarta.

In addition to their impact on the sport itself, the great basketball stars have used their platform to address important social issues, from racial justice to gender equality and education. Their influence extends beyond the courts, serving as role models for millions of people and demonstrating the transformative power of sports as an agent of social change. In summary, the great basketball stars have not only left an indelible mark on the history of the sport but have also significantly contributed to culture and society at large.
